The Maine Cheese Guild is pleased to host the 9th annual Maine Cheese Festival, our annual showcase of the best artisan cheeses made in Maine. Manson Park is a large and open park along the Sebasticook River - a beautiful setting for festival attendees to taste the vast array of superb Maine cheeses crafted from cow, goat, water buffalo, and sheep milk. This Festival is the largest gathering of Maine cheese makers in the state and a great opportunity to learn about the craft right from the makers.

OUR 4TH ANNUAL BEMBELFEST
{Save the Date — Saturday, September 13th}

Our festival celebrating the cider culture and traditions of Frankfurt, Germany returns on Saturday, September 13th from 12-9pm. Traveling to Frankfurt, Germany holds a special place in our memory and this festival is an ode to that. To add to the festival, we’ve put together a truly spectacular list of traditional German lagers to accompany our two German-style ciders — Stein & Bembel.

Here are the details for the day:

OUR GERMAN-STYLE CIDERS
For the day, we are re-releasing batches of our two German inspired ciders: (1) Bembel (our Frankfurt inspired cider aged in stainless tanks), and (2) Stein (our Munich inspired cider aged in Hungarian oak). Both will be available by the glass and in bottles. We will also have traditional cider glassware available for purchase!

TRADITIONAL GERMAN BEERS
To add the celebration, we are tapping several traditional German Lagers along with some stateside German-Inspired beers from: @ayinger_privatbrauerei @weihenstephan_official @jever_friesischherb @oxbowbrewingcompany @schillingbeerco @tributarybrewing @notchbrewing @sacredprofanebrewing and @eggenbergerbier – More details on the full list coming soon.

LIVE MUSIC
On the day, we will have two bands take our Barn Sessions stage including @_seth_gallant & The Rough Sewn from 2-4pm and @coyotesmokeband from 4:30-6:30pm. You won’t want to miss the tunes.

SAUSAGES, HOT-DOGS, & TACOS
Our friends from @dogmynation are putting together a special menu of German-inspired sausages alongside their usual USA inspired hot dogs. @onaroll_foodtruck will also be here serving up tacos to close out their summer pop-up residency at Absolem. Food pop-ups from 12-8pm that day!

AXE THROWING WITH THE AXE PIT
For the first time, @theaxepit is bringing their trailer up to Absolem to host one of their mobile axe throwing pop-ups from 1-6pm! You’ll be able to choose your weapon and show your skills! Free all-day for people stopping by for the event.

It’s one of our favorite days of the year, with the leaves just starting to change and bonfires going in the fields. We hope to see you there!

Raise the Barn! by Tilted Barn Brewing

It's time to come Raise the Barn with us again for our fourth annual Raise the Barn Fest on Saturday, September 6th from 1-4:30pm. Last year's fest was an absolute blast and we can't wait to share some beer and good vibes with you all again this year! We'll have over 20 of our incredible brewery friends coming from in and around the Northeast joining us along with multiple food trucks and live music! This will be a ticketed event and online ticket sales will go live Monday, August 4th at 10am via the green buttons linked on this page. Tickets are limited and last year tickets sold out in 5 minutes so be sure to set those alarms to scoop them up quick!

It’s been an incredible journey and we’re so appreciative of everyone who has been a part of our story. Now let’s take some time to relax, share some beers, enjoy some food, and listen to some good music with friends and family!

A little bit about barn raising is that traditionally, it took many local hands to support a farm in constructing a new barn so farmers would bring in members from their community to help them in building and literally raising the new barn from the ground up.

Although times have changed a bit since this was a common practice during the turn of the 19th century, we're hoping to keep this tradition alive by calling on our friends in the brewing industry to join us on our farm and help us officially Raise the Barn to share our new brewery with our favorite beer community.
